New year – Time to begin things..!!

We might have a lot of things/ideas running in our minds, but we would not be sure when to start and we keep skipping every day waiting for the right time. The new year is an auspicious day to begin such things. The new year is a beginning of a new calendar year, which means a new set 365/366 days, and it is a day that can be easily remembered when you start something. It is not necessary to start only the big things during the new year, even small things like going to bed early, waking up early, following a routine etc can be started.

When it comes to planning, there’s always a lot of confusion in the association of the term and its implementation. This confusion usually causes so much anxiety to those who plan and to those who don’t. The meaning of Planning is to regulate/organise situations and/or events according to a very specific plan. Planning was born exactly with this premise: to think in advance about a series of actions in a structured way so that you can make sure the events follow a certain path. #Inspired

New Years’ resolutions often fall into the category of self-improvement. Generally, they are not something we decide to do on a whim, rather, they’re the culmination of long-standing dissatisfaction with areas of our lives. This is why most resolutions seem to fall into the categories of money, health, career, and love.
The fact is, so many new years resolutions are desires and goals that we’ve put on the back burner. There is often a multitude of reasons why we don’t commit ourselves to making changes during the rest of the year. #Inspired

It could stem from something as simple a procrastination or resource issues like money or the lack of free time. Yet come December 31st, we decide the new year will be different. We will jump into these changes with newfound fervour. But in many cases, our resolutions have a very short shelf-life; within a few weeks, they’re all expired. Our motivation evaporates, and we find ourselves right back at square one. There’s something about the thought of a fresh start that intrigues and excites us. #Inspired

This is why we celebrate New Year and important anniversaries in the first place. We believe that a birthday or change of year presents the opportunity to do things differently, to make us feel more fulfilled in our day-to-day life. The problem is that whether we like to admit it or not, we are creatures of habit, and habit is the enemy of change. Even if we’re not consciously aware of it, the need for routine is deeply ingrained in human nature. #Inspired

We hold tight to routines; even those we hate; as they provide us with familiarity and a perceived if the often false sense of security. We have an instinctual drive to deal with the known rather than the unknown. This is why so many of us stay in situations that make us unhappy. To use an adage, we often stick with the ‘devil we know, rather than the devil we don’t.’
When January rolls around, we feel that the new year presents us with a chance to change things, yet, familiarity and comfort quickly rule the day. #Inspired

Usually, our resolutions are about the ‘big stuff’ in our lives: health, career, love, etc. These areas need more than just a calendar flip and a moderate degree of enthusiasm. They need you to step back and begin to adopt new behaviours and routines. This requires real commitment, so this is the right time to step up and show our real commitment. Without any commitments, nothing can be achieved in life. You can do anything you put your mind to, but you have to trust yourself to be able to do it.

Wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous new year 2022.
